Strong Storms Possible Tuesday Afternoon

By News Apr 6, 2021 | 12:57 PM

Strong to severe thunderstorms are a possibility Tuesday afternoon and evening.   The National Weather Service reports the main hazards will be large hail, strong wind with the possibility of a tornado, especially in southwest Nebraska.  A wind advisory will be in effect along the Kansas border through 7 p.m. with gusts of 35 to 45 mph.  There is a marginal risk of severe weather Wednesday afternoon.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Becky Kern tells KLIN  the chance for severe weather could start as early as 4 p.m. in and around the Lincoln area.  Severe storms are possible through about 10 p.m.  That will be followed by rain showers overnight.

Kern says keep an eye on the skies if you have outdoor evening events planned.  That includes the risk of lightening.  She says, “If you hear it roar, go indoors”.
