Stolen Vehicle Involved In Hit-And-Run, 16 Year Old Driver Arrested

On Tuesday, March 2nd, Lincoln Police responded to a report of a stolen 2010 Saturn Outlook in the 600 block of South 26th Street at approximately 8:50 p.m.  The victim told police she had left the vehicle running while she stepped inside.

On Wednesday, March 3rd, LPD dispatch received a call about a vehicle matching the Saturn involved in a hit-and-run accident near North 38th and Apple Street.  Officers spotted the vehicle but the driver took off.  Police turned around to follow it but were unable to find it.

On Thursday, March 4th at 2:34 p.m., LPD investigators saw the Saturn near North 35th and Apple Street.  They followed the vehicle until it parked near 32nd and Overland Trail.  As officers walked toward the vehicle, the suspect got out and ran.  Officers gave chase and he was found several blocks away.

16 year old Jayvone Kashieme was taken into custody and lodge in the Youth Services Center for theft by receiving, resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident.
