In an effort to reduce traffic accidents and promote motor vehicle safety, the Lincoln Police Department, in conjunction with the Nebraska State Patrol, will be conducting traffic enforcements during the evenings in March through June. Dates have not yet been announced.
The goal is to conduct a High Visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail within the city limits of Lincoln to reduce the number of motor vehicle accidents and promote safe and responsible driving behavior. This will be a joint detail with an emphasis on O Street between 17th and 98th.
The Nebraska Department of Highway Safety is providing the overtime funding for the extra enforcement.
The goal is to reduce the number of traffic accidents resulting in injury or death in 2021 compared to 2020.
