Disturbance Leads To Arrest On Weapons And Drug Charges

A 41 year old woman is facing a number of charges after a physical disturbance around 1:40 p.m. Thursday, March 4th in the 400 block of North 25th Street.  Officers attempted to speak with a man and a woman standing outside the building.  The woman, identified as Shauna Devries saw the officers and ran around the building.  The tenant later spoke with officers and explained that Devries was inside the residence.

The tenant went inside and returned with Devries who saw the officers and ran but officers soon caught up with her.  Inside her purse police found 15 syringes, a plastic bag with white residue that tested positive for methamphetamine and an 8-inch knife with a fixed blade.

Devries is a convicted felon and she is prohibited from possessing a weapon.  Devries was booked for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and possession of drug paraphernalia.
