By News Feb 25, 2021 | 11:53 AM

Lincoln Police were called to the U-stop at 27th ad Porter Ridge Road on February 11th to check on the welfare of a man.  The clerk reported he was sitting in his vehicle at the pumps for over 15 minutes.  They checked on him and thought he was under the influence.

When officers arrived, they found 25 year old Marcus Vogt.   Officers searched Vogt’s vehicle after probable cause was established.  They located 5.6 grams of combined suspected methamphetamine, 3.1 grams of marijuana, and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia.  Officers also located a catalytic converter, flashlight, and a Sawzall with several blades.  Officers also found that the plates did not belong on the vehicle and Vogt was found to have a revoked license as well.

Vogt was taken into custody and arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fictitious Plates, and Revoked License.

Later that day, Firestone at 300 N 66th Street reported that a catalytic converter had been cut from a 2020 Chevy Silverado that had been parked in their lot overnight.  Investigators took that catalytic converter that was in Vogt’s possession and were able to match it to the vehicle in the Firestone lot.  As the investigation continued, Vogt was contacted on February 23rd at the Nebraska Department of Corrections Diagnostic and Evaluation Center and interviewed him.  He was arrested for felony Possession of Burglar Tools.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
