Shoplifting Suspect Puts Up Quite A Fight With Lincoln Police

A 43 year old woman is facing a number of charges after Lincoln Police were called to the Walmart at 4700 N 27th Street on February 7th around 9:30 p.m.

When officers arrived they found the woman trying to leave the store without paying for several items. When police arrived she tried to evade the officer.  The officer told the woman to stop and ten tried to take her into custody.  The woman resisted arrest and that was followed by a lengthy struggle.  More officers arrived and she was taken into custody.

Brandy Wolford was found to have about $85 in unpaid merchandise in her purse and pockets.

Once at the jail, staff saw a bag containing 0.7 grams of methamphetamine fall from her while changing into jail clothing.

Due to previous convictions, she was arrested for felony 3rd Subsequent Theft by Shoplifting, felony Resisting Arrest, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The officer suffered multiple scrapes and abrasions and a cut to the hand that did not require medical attention.
