Lincoln Police were called to a hospital on Thursday, January 14th at 12:30 p.m. to investigate a potential child abuse report.   A staff told police that a 3 month old child was brought to the hospital by her mother. The mother stated she returned home and found the baby had a head injury after being cared for by her father, 20 year old Malcom Lofton.

Medical tests showed the baby suffered injuries to the face and head as well as bleeding on the brain.  The baby remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

Investigators contacted Lofton at his home and was taken in for questioning.  Investigators discovered that Lofton was responsible for causing the injuries to his baby.  Lofton was arrested for Felony Child Abuse.
