For a 10th week, the Lincoln-Lancaster County COVID-19 Risk Dial remains in the Red, or severe risk category for spread.
This COVID-19 Risk Dial provides a summary of current conditions in the Lincoln-Lancaster County community. Each color incorporates federal and national guidance published by public health experts and is coupled with specific guidance.
Five key measures are used to determine the position of the Risk Dial: Case Numbers; Testing Capacity; Positivity Rate; Contact Tracing; and Hospital Capacity.
The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department Tuesday announced that four more residents have died from COVID-19. The deaths included three people in long-term care facilities – a man and woman in their 90s and a woman in her 80s, and a woman in her 60s who died at home. The total number of deaths in Lancaster County is now 175.
There are 186 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed today in Lancaster County. The positivity rate for January 10th through the 12th is 27.6%. From January 3rd through the 9th the rate was at 28.9%.
Hospitalizations for COVID-19 today is at 103 with 69 from Lancaster County (five on ventilators) and 34 from other communities (four on ventilators).
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. If you have symptoms, please get tested. Testing is now open to all Lancaster County residents by appointment only.
