New unemployment claims were up slightly last week while continued unemployment was up nearly 800 claims. Last week, the Nebraska Department of Labor announced that November’s unemployment rate was up slightly to 3.1%, but was still the lowest in the nation for the fourth straight month. Despite the increase, Nebraska’s benefit payments decreased by just over $93,000. Nearly $1.2 billion in benefits have been paid in the state since March 29th.
