By News Nov 24, 2020 | 11:01 AM

Lincoln police were called to the 1200 block of S 27th Street around 4:30 p.m. on November 21st and spoke to a 35 year old man and his wife and 6 year old son were jogging on the bike trail near Veterans Memorial Gardens.  The man reported seeing two teenage boys and one was laying across the bike path.  Each of the boys had a bike.

The man and other trail users asked they move from the path to avoid injuries.

The family then continued on the trail and the teens followed them until they were near the Children’s Zoo.  The teen males confronted them and started threatening them.  One of the teens pulled up their sweatshirt and revealed the grip of a handgun and then threatened the family again.  The victim pulled out his phone at which time the teens took off on the trail.

Officers canvassed the area and checked for potential cameras that may have captured the incident.  This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
