COVID-10 Outbreak At Lancaster Rehabilitation Center

By News Nov 24, 2020 | 1:15 PM

Lancaster Rehabilitation Center is experiencing an outbreak of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. Up to this point, we had been successful in keeping the coronavirus from Lancaster Rehabilitation Center residents. This virus transmits unlike any we have seen and made its way to our residents, regardless of the extreme precautions we have taken since the pandemic began.

As we have been from the start of the pandemic, we are in close communication with local and state health officials to ensure we are taking all the appropriate steps under current circumstances. We continue to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19. In addition, we are working with the University of Nebraska Medical Center to further support our infection control and emergency preparedness efforts.

We continue to communicate regularly with residents and families. Resident safety remains our top priority.

The team at Lancaster Rehabilitation Center is doing everything we can to protect the individuals in our care from this virus. Studies have proven that positivity rates in a community directly correlate with outbreaks in the long-term care facilities in that community, so we plead with every resident of Lancaster County to help in our efforts by staying home, wearing a face mask, practicing physical distancing, and avoiding gatherings.
