Thanksgiving Day A Go At People's City Mission

By News Nov 23, 2020 | 5:23 PM

People’s City Mission will once again be serving a full Thanksgiving meal to all of the homeless in Lincoln. They start serving at 11:30 and will go until 2:00 on Thanksgiving Day.

We will have less chairs at the tables than usual to encourage distancing. We will be serving individual meals at the tables rather than having guests stand in line. We will also be screening all individuals – guests and volunteers – and we require masks.

Pastor Tom is asking the community to buy just one meal for a homeless person. It only costs the Mission $2.51. You can go to our website at pcmlincoln.org and click DONATE.

People’s City Mission was started in 1907 by local churches, offering food and shelter for transient and impoverished men, women and children. The PCM shelter, located at 110 Q St., can house 350 men, women and children each night in the emergency shelters and the Curtis Center transitional housing program. The Help Center at 6800 P St. is our primary distribution point for free food, clothing, household items, furniture, toys, and personal care items, all through public donations. We give away the best and recycle the rest, which helps to fund operations. The PCM Medical Clinic, located behind our shelter, offers a variety of services to low-income Lincoln residents without medical insurance.
