By News Nov 7, 2020 | 3:47 PM

…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY…

South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected on Sunday across portions of east central, northeast and southeast Nebraska and southwest and west central Iowa.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

Today (Saturday) through next week:  Southerly winds will be sustained at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph today. The strong winds combined with cured fuels and falling humidity values will result in very high fire danger over portions of northeast Nebraska this afternoon.

Sunday through Friday:  Southerly winds will be even stronger Sunday, gusting to 40 to 50 mph in parts of the area. There is a marginal risk for a few strong to severe storms Monday, as well as a marginal risk for heavy rain for parts of the area.

There is some potential for wintry weather Monday night into Tuesday which could affect the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.
