By News Sep 25, 2020 | 3:22 PM

The Lincoln-Lancaster County COVID-19 Risk Dial remains in mid-Orange, or high risk range, for the 4th week in a row.

There are 119 new cases today bringing the community total to 5.137.  There have been 2,353 recoveries.

Health Director Pat Lopez continues to recover after it was announced she contracted COVID-19 last week.  The Health Department’s Scott Holmes spoke at the mayor’s news conference today and stated there are 461 new cases so far this week.  There were 536 cases confirmed last week.

Health officials are concerned about community spread.  Cases in the 18 to 22 age group are starting to drop but all other age groups have shown an increase in positive cases.  There are currently 65 people hospitalized in Lancaster County, the highest number since the pandemic started last spring.

Health officials remind residents to wear masks, social distance and wash hands frequently.
