Suspect In Vehicle Break-In Spree Located At Hall Of Justice For Court Date

Lincoln Police were called to Westminster Church around 10 a.m. Wednesday 23rd to investigation several car break-ins.  Police talked with two witnesses who stated they saw a man, later identified as 54 year old Logan Johnson, walking away from a vehicle that had its windows broken out and the alarm was going off.  The witness also saw another vehicle that had its windows broken.  Johnson was seen getting into a silver sedan and leave the area.  A witness was able to get the license plate number.

Police found the vehicle in the 600 block of South 28th Street.  Police contacted the registered owner who stated Johnson had been possession of the vehicle.  Officers then learned that Johnson had a court date at the Hall of Justice.  Johnson was located and taken into custody.  He was booked for two counts of theft by unlawful taking, third offense which makes it a felony.

One victim had a backpack and a spare key taken from a vehicle.  The total loss was $100.  The other victim had nothing taken.
