Two women were enjoying an evening outdoors near 13th and Washington around midnight Saturday, August 22nd when they were approached by a another woman who started harassing them. The two women say the female had been yelling and lingering around the apartment complex when she started calling the women names.
The suspect, identified as 37 year old Latoya Jones then grabbed one of the women’s arms and punched her in the face. The victim sprayed Jones with pepper spray and she ran from the scene.
Officers soon located Jones walking nearby and she was taken into custody. During the drive to jail, Jones started spitting at the officer but there was a partition between them. At the jail, Jones continued to spit on officers hitting them in the face and on the front of a uniform.
Jones was booked for assault and assault with bodily fluid on a police officer.
