Arrest Made In Monday Stabbing Death

An arrest is made in the stabbing death Monday of 37-year-old Jeremy Lane at 14th and D Street.

27-year-old Roy Wyrick was booked for second-degree murder and for use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Officers were called to 14th and D around 8:30 p.m. Monday and found Lane on the ground suffering from a stab wound.  He was rushed to a hospital with CPR in progress and was later pronounced dead.

Police investigated by spoke to witnesses who said that both men were involved in a fight before the stabbing.  What the argument was regarding is not known.  The weapon has not been recovered. Police say it does not appear that alcohol or drugs were involved in the altercation.   Officers say both men were transients.
