Man Claims Building Break-In Was To Escape The Storm

By News Jul 9, 2020 | 10:09 AM
A 23-year-old man is behind bars after a break-in at the MedExpress Urgent Care at 110 North 66th Street around 1:36 Thursday morning.
Officers arrived to find a window smashed and a book bag next to the window.
There was also a post-it note on the front door that said “Exam Room 2, Ronnie”.  Inside, officers found Ronnie Swartz asleep in the exam room.
Officers found a syringe containing a substance that pre-tested positive for an amphetamine in Swartz’s backpack, a glass pipe that smelled of burnt marijuana and a loaded realistic-looking BB gun.
Swartz told police he broke into the building to get out of the storm.
Swartz was booked for possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Damage to the building is estimated at $2,000.
