The Johnson County Attorney’s Office believes the body found near Tecumseh on Monday is that of 56-year old Mark A. Swarthout of Beatrice. Swarthout has been reported missing since June 24, 2020.
Further testing will be done to confirm his identity. The investigation into the cause of his death is ongoing.
The vehicle was parked in a pasture driveway just off Highway 136, approximately 4 ½ miles west of Tecumseh, in a location not visible from the highway.
