Initial Unemployment Claims Up Slightly in Nebraska

The June jobs report showed the nation’s employers brought more workers on board than expected during a gradual reopening of the economy.

Nationally, Nonfarm payrolls Added 4.8 million workers in June pushing the unemployment rate down to 11.1 percent, according to the Labor Department. Markets were expecting the addition of 3 million jobs.

In Nebraska, initial claims filed total 4,631 last week, up 225 from the week prior. The number of Unemployed was down 291 for the week at 56,955.
