A color-coded indicator that marks the risk of local COVID-19 spread remains unchanged from last week.

At Friday’s mayoral COVID-19 media briefing, Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird said the county’s COVID-19 risk dial remained in the “mid yellow” range, indicating the risk of local spread remains “moderate.”

“We all, of course, remain at risk at being susceptible to the virus anytime we are out amongst other people in close contact,” said Baird. “It’s extremely important that we continue to employ proven health strategies to prevent the spread.”

An additional 29 people tested positive for the virus today, bringing the community total to 1588.
