Severe thunderstorms overnight caused a number of power outages across the city and in Waverly.  Lincoln Electric System’s outage map at one time reported 1,600 people without power.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Taylor Nicolaisen told KLIN News the peak wind gust at the airport was 69 MPH however there were other reports of gusts over 70 MPH in parts of the city.  Officially .48 inches of rain fell in the storms so far.
