The first day back from hosting a limited attendance state boy’s basketball tournament, the Nebraska Schools Activities Association (NSAA) has made a decision on spring sports.
The update says that beginning today, March 16, “all NSAA activity practices are suspended until Monday, March 30 and all NSAA activity competitions are suspended until Thursday, April 2. ” It goes on to say that the suspensions could be extended “should the conditions warrant.”
The Centers for Disease Control Sunday recommended against gatherings of more than 50-plus people for the next eight weeks, which would be through May 10. Today, the White House advised against gatherings of more than 10 people.
There are five spring sports under the NSAA, with the earliest championships beginning May 13 with soccer. The final championships are set to end May 28 for golf.
