President Barack Obama has been re-elected after passing the 270 vote threshold in the Electoral College, defeating challenger Mitt Romney. Shortly after the polls in five western states closed at 10 p.m. Central Time, Obama was declared the winner in Ohio to push his total to 274 electoral votes and enough to win his second term as president.
