Kawasaki Adds Aerospace Division At Lincoln Plant

A number of dignitaries were on hand Thursday for the grand opening of Kawasaki's new Aerospace Division. Governor Pete Ricketts said at today's ceremony at Kawasaki that their almost 13 million dollar investment will not only create fifty jobs, but also a new aerospace division here in Lincoln and in the United States.

Governor Ricketts says that Lincoln has a lot to offer Kawasaki with its quality of life, great work force and low cost of living. Production at the Lincoln plant will initially focus on cargo door manufacturing for Boeing Corporation.

- Governor Ricketts says Kawaski's over 12 million dollar expansion at its Lincoln plant further strengthens the relationship between Nebraska and Japan. Governor Ricketts says Japan is the largest foreign direct investor in Nebraska and the state's third largest trading partner. Governor Ricketts announced he will lead another trade mission to Japan in September.
