Huskers on KLIN

By Tommy Rezac

Nebraska athletics announced Tuesday that Husker men's basketball player Isaac Copeland received a waiver from the NCAA and is immediately eligible for the 2017-18 season.

Copeland, who transferred from Georgetown to Nebraska in January of this year, received a medical redshirt during the 2016-17 season after playing in only seven games due to injury. He will have two years of eligibility left beginning this season.

"It's a great feeling," Copeland said. "It's a long process coming here in the middle of January, not really knowing too many people, and then getting surgery. Now, I'm getting back playing. Finally being able to play at the start of a season feels great."

Copeland had knee surgery on Feb. 23.

Copeland averaged 11.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game during the 2015-16 season. He played in 73 total games during his time with the Hoyas, including 49 starts.

Nebraska opens its season in just under two months on November 7th when they host Northwood in an exhibition game at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Every home and away men’s basketball game can be heard on 1400 KLIN.

Tip times and TV information for the final three games on Nebraska's schedule were also announced today. Nebraska and St. John's will tip off in the Gavitt Tipoff Games on Nov. 16 at 5:30 central on Fox Sports 1.

Nebraska's game with Creighton at CenturyLink Center Omaha on Dec. 9 will also be televised on FS1, and will start at either 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

Nebraska's Big Ten/ACC Challenge game with Boston College will tip off from Lincoln at 8:15 p.m. central on Nov. 29, and will be televised on ESPNU.

As KLIN does for Nebraska football, we'll match our audio broadcast with the television signal, so you can turn down the TV and hear Kent Pavelka and Matt Davison describe the action on the Husker Sports Network.
