Safe Kids Lincoln-Lancaster County is sponsoring a community-wide car seat check event on Saturday, July 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Duteau Chevrolet, 7300 S. 27th Street, just south of 27th and Pine Lake.
Nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect the installation and use of your car seat(s), ensure your child passenger is as safe as possible, and answer any and all questions regarding safely transporting children in motor vehicles.
To ensure timely inspection of your car seat, it is strongly suggested appointments are made by calling the
Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Dept. at 441-8045 between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Some drive-ups may be accommodated as time allows.
This is a free event, open to all Lincoln and Lancaster County residents.
To support the continuation of child passenger safety efforts in our community, AAA Nebraska has offered to match donations from the public up to $3,000. These tax-deductible donations can be made at the event, or can by dropped off at the AAA Nebraska Lincoln Office at 29th and O Streets.

The 3rd Annual Evening of Jazz with The Darryl White Group will be held at The ROCOCO THEATRE, 140 N. 13th Street. The fundraiser will benefit CHARLIE BROWN'S KIDS - Good Grief.
Accomplished jazz trumpeter and Associate Professor of Trumpet at the University of Nebraska Lincoln School of Music, has assembled jazz musicians for the event. A special guest artist will be Latin Percussionist Michael Pujado. There will also be a silent auction and raffle.

Advance tickets are available for $20 by calling The Charlie Line at 483-1845, or purchase at the door the night of the event beginning at 6:00 pm.
