Outrage Continues Over School Food Portions

Parents and students are complaining about smaller portions of public school lunches across the country and the state.

Nebraska Congressman Adrian Smith tells KLIN's Drive Time Lincoln, it's another example of the federal government interfering with local government and ignoring professional advise.

The lower food portions comes in response to the recently passed Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act signed into law by President Barack Obama. It requires all public school systems to reform to the new food program by the end of the 2014 school year.

Congressman Smith says he voted against the bill.
