Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler announced mandatory watering restrictions today. Residents with even number addresses are now required to only water on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Odd number residences can only water on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays. No residential watering is permitted on Mondays.
Lincoln Police will enforce compliance immediately, with the misdemeanor penalties resulting in a $500 fine, and/or jailtime for each day of non-compliance. Citizens can report violations to police by calling (402) 441-6000. Lincoln last enforced water conservation in 2002.
