Broadcast House Radio Operation Inks Four-Year Extension
With Husker Sports Marketing for Husker Radio Broadcasts

KLNC-FM Named Husker Women’s Lincoln Flagship Station in 2011
Lincoln, NE – Nov. 8 – Husker Sports Marketing, the multimedia rights partner of the University of Nebraska and an IMG College property, and Broadcast House have penned a four-year radio rights extension to keep University of Nebraska sports on the Lincoln metro’s most-listened-to radio operation.
News/Talk 1400 KLIN-AM will remain the Lincoln AM flagship for the Husker Network airing Nebraska football, baseball, and men’s basketball events, as well as “Sports Nightly,” the weekday talk show. Country music leader KFGE-FM, Froggy 98, will continue as the Lincoln FM-flagship for football. KBBK-FM, B107.3 FM, will continue to broadcast Husker women’s volleyball through the 2010 season, but beginning with the Nebraska women’s basketball season this fall, sister station KLNC-FM “WOW 105.3” will become the official Lincoln home for all Husker women’s sports programming. KLNC-FM will take over all volleyball broadcasts beginning with the 2011 campaign. In addition, select Husker softball broadcasts will air on 105.3 FM next spring.
Broadcast House General Manager Andy Ruback said the Husker rights extension is a testament to the healthy partnership with Husker Sports Marketing, the University, and thousands of loyal radio listeners. “It’s a thrill to have the Huskers stay on our family of stations as our listeners have come to expect the Husker games on our great radio properties. It’s truly a credit to a loyal following with our listeners and a team of committed broadcasters within our operation,” said Ruback. “Followers of Husker women’s sports now have a one-stop location for their events on the radio with 105.3 WOW-FM.”
Husker Sports Network General Manager David Witty said continuing the radio partnership was a critical strategic move. “By working together we are providing Nebraska fans everywhere with four healthy broadcast signals on stations that super serve each of their unique listenership. We are also thrilled to have each station within the Broadcast House family commit to each of our unique franchises – from the men’s to women’s programming, we have the best of both worlds,” said Witty.
University of Nebraska Athletic Director Tom Osborne said, “We have been proud to partner with KLIN and the other stations at Broadcast House as our Lincoln affiliate for nearly two decades. The radio broadcast rights extension runs through July 2015 and continues an ongoing partnership between Broadcast House and Husker Sports Marketing dating back to 1993. The Broadcast House family of stations are owned and operated by NRG Media.
