Yesterday was the official day to celebrate “Memorial Day”, a day set aside to honor and remember our veterans who have served our country in times of war, and peace.
Many celebrations, with flyovers and sincere speeches of thankfulness were held throughout the country, and we hope the veterans understand that we are, indeed, grateful to them for their unbelievable sacrifices in support of freedom and our way of life.
But we need to be honoring them all year, maybe not with more parades, but with help to them in finding jobs, in restoring their previous lives, and in general support to make them aware that we truly do appreciate them. And that we recognize that we are able to enjoy the good life because they fought for us.
The last thing we should do is to ignore them, as we have done so many times before.
Thank you, veterans, we can never honor you enough, but we need to try.
