Young State Senator Receives National Recognition

Peru State Senator Julie Slama is listed by Forbes Magazine as one of the 30 politicians, attorneys and founders under the age of 30 who will help shape the next decade of law and policy in the U.S.

The 23-year-old is up for re-election after being appointed to the legislature this year by Governor Ricketts. Forbes also cites Slama with a Connecticut state senator as two of the youngest state senators in history.
