Lincoln Native Breaks Cycling World Record For The Third Time

A Lincoln native comes home from Bolivia after beating a cycling world record…again.

28-year-old Lincoln resident Ashton Lambie beat his own world record Friday in the Individual Pursuit at the 2019 Pan-American Championships.

The individual pursuit is a track cycling event where two cyclists race starting from stationary positions on opposite sides of the track.

The event is held over 2 1/2 miles.

This is Lambie’s third time breaking the record.

The last time he set the record was last year in Mexico in the 2018 Pan-America Championships.
