Nebraska’s Leading Economic Indicator Bounces Back In July

Economic growth is predicted in Nebraska in the latest University of Nebraska Lincoln leading economic indicator survey.

UNL Bureau of Business Research Director Eric Thompson says the indicator rose sharply during July…suggesting solid economic growth in Nebraska through the end of 2019 and into early 2020.

Thompson says that manufacturing hours were up along with building permits for single family homes in the month. Initial claims for unemployment dropped sharply while business expectations were strong during July.
