High Heat and Humidity Could Lead to Storms

A moist and unstable environment will be the catalyst for possible severe thunderstorms this evening, particularly over northeast Nebraska.

Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats with these storms. Significant heavy rainfall will be possible as well tonight. Otherwise, sultry conditions are expected this afternoon with heat indices pushing 100-105 degrees along and south of the I-80 corridor.

Minor flooding will continue on the Missouri River above Lewis and Clark Lake and from around Plattsmouth downstream past Rulo.
