One Day Without Shoes Drive raises Thousands of Shoes for the Lincoln People’s City Mission

The “One Day Without Shoes” Drive raises thousands of shoes for the Lincoln People’s City Mission.

Cornhusker Bank President Barry Lockard tells KLIN News they are so appreciative of the generosity shown by Lincoln residents in this drive and their previous drives.

Lockard says that their drives over the past nine years have collected over 160,000 pair of shoes with  over 30,000 pairs of shoes collected this year.

People’s City Mission Executive Director Pastor Tom Barber tells KLIN News that the donations mean a great deal to Lincoln’s homeless and those in need.  He says that some are getting their first pair of new shoes.

Cornhusker Bank also presented the Peoples City Mission with a check for $10,000 raised thru the drive.
