The son of a Husker legend will play for Nebraska next season. Elkhorn South’s Jace Piatkowski, son of Eric Piatkowski, has accepted a preferred walk-on offer from Nebraska, he announced on his Twitter account Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Omaha World-Herald, the 6-foot-4, 174 pound guard averaged 18.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game this past season. His father Eric had his jersey, No. 52, retired by NU. The elder Piatkowski is second all time on the Husker’s scoring leaders list, behind only Dave Hoppen.
