Mandatory Water Restrictions Lifted, Voluntary Water Conservation Still Encouraged

Water restrictions in Lincoln are voluntary again.

Mayor Chris Buetler says he decided to remove the mandatory water restrictions due to significant progress being made in repairing damaged well-fields near Ashland.

The Mayor says Lincoln citizens have “risen to the challenge” presented by the flooding, and thanks residents and business for their sacrifices in conserving water.

“We’ve pulled together like never before,” says Beulter. “I think I can honestly say in the 12 years I’ve been mayor, I’ve never been of this city.”

Despite an increase in water production for the city, the Mayor says not all the well-fields have been repaired yet. He’s still requesting residents and businesses reduce water consumption by 25%.
