Lincoln Residents Are Told the City’s Water Is Still Safe to Drink

Lincoln residents are being told Tuesday by Mayor Beutler to continue to reduce their water usage in half because of flooding at the city water well fields in Ashland.

Mayor Beutler tells KLIN’s Jack Mitchell on LNK Today that the city’s functioning south well at the flooded well fields in Ashland is producing enough water to take care of our basic health or sanitation needs..but doesn’t provide enough water for all of Lincoln’s industrial needs.  He says that the north well at the flooded Ashland well field is still not working yet.

Mayor Beutler emphasizes that at this time they don’t expect any impure water to get through. He says they are monitoring it very closely.
