Flood Warning Extended Through Monday Mid-Day

The National Weather Service in Omaha has extended a Flood Warning for the following counties in Nebraska and Iowa until 11:15 am Monday, March 18, 2019

Residual extensive flooding continues today (Sunday), as rivers and streams continue to be at record levels and have expanded to areas unaccustomed to flooding. Travel is still hazardous, and is discouraged. Please do not drive across flooded roadways.

Widespread flooding along rivers and streams will continue through tonight across most of eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa. .

Monday through Saturday – moderate to major flooding will continue into early next week over much of Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa. Flooding along the Missouri River is expected all week.

There is a chance for rain and snow Monday night through Tuesday. Up to a half inch of liquid from rain and melted snow is possible, with areas south of Interstate 80 under the greatest risk.

Another storm system entering the region late in the week could bring another half inch or more of rainfall Friday night and Saturday.
