Lincoln Man Arrested After Attempting To Rob Papa Johns With Drumsticks

Police have arrested a Lincoln man who attempted to hold up a North Lincoln Papa John’s with drumsticks.

“Not the chicken wings and not the type that have the ice-cream,” says Police Captain Ben Kopsa. “The actual drumsticks to play a snare drum with.”

Kopsa tells KLIN News police received a call from the Papa John’s at 621 N 48th St around 7:30 last night.

The employee reported a man holding drumsticks and a cardboard sign that said “Give me everything in the register,” tried to rob the restaurant.

“The party did not get any money or anything of value,” says Kopsa. He says the suspect then fled the restaurant, but not before breaking a glass panel on the outside of the restaurant.

The man was located soon afterwards and 33-year-old Joseph Peterson was arrested for attempted robbery and criminal mischief.
