LFR Gives Cause For Morning Apartment Fire

A third story apartment fire that killed a cat and displaced two residents was electric in nature, according to fire investigators.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue Captain Rick Snyder tells says the 2-alarm fire was called in by a bystander early this morning.

“Units arrived on location (and) found a room and contents fire,” says Synder. “It was fairly quickly extinguished. Right now, no injuries, no one has been transported (and) no firefighter injuries.”

Snyder says the fire was contained to that single apartment and the two residents were not home when the blaze started.

Damages are estimated at anywhere from $30,000- $50,000.
