NU head coach Scott Frost revealed Monday morning that Husker running back Maurice Washington is in California to “get processed” for his ongoing legal situation. Frost said Washington could be back Monday night.

Washington is facing a misdemeanor charge under his home state of California’s “revenge porn” laws and a felony charge of distribution of child pornography. According to Frost, Washington flew out to California on Sunday.

Frost also said that he wanted to keep “everything that’s going on in California at arm’s length.”  According to the Omaha World-Herald, Washington’s court date is scheduled for April 10th, three days before Nebraska’s Spring Game.

Washington allegedly texted a video to his ex girlfriend of her performing a sex act, along with a message that read “remember this hoe” back in March of 2018. Because she was a minor at the time the video took place, Washington was charged with distribution of child pornography, a felony.

Washington was not in the video and did not record it, but he did have it saved on his phone. Frost mentioned last week that Washington would be a “limited participant” in practice this spring.
