Jaxon Hallmark has been recognized as the Big Ten’s Player-of-the-Week for his performance against UC Riverside. This past weekend, the sophomore went 8-18 with 10 RBIs. He also scored five runs and had one stolen base.
Additionally, Hallmark had to take to the mound, pitching 2/3rds of an inning during game two of Saturday’s doubleheader, not allowing a run to get across. The Texas native hit a career high four hits and had five RBIs on the Friday season opener as well.
Nebraska dominated the Highlanders, scoring 47 total runs in a 3-1 series victory. Next, they’ll be in action against the reigning NCAA champions, the Oregon State Beavers for a four game series. Game 1 will begin Thursday at 1:30 on KLIN. First pitch is set for 2 o’ clock.
