Lincoln Man Arrested After Driving Drunk in Lincoln Jail Parking Lot

A man was arrested for driving under the influence and other crimes after he was reported swerving in the Lincoln Jail parking lot.

Officer Angela Sands says a witness reported the seeing the vehicle weaving and driving over the island in the parking lot around 4AM Friday.

Sands says the driver, 22-year-old Curtis Scott, was contacted in the lobby of the jail and was detained by police on a DUI investigation, but gave officers a hard time along the way

“He was taken to the cruiser, they were going to take him to do a DUI investigation, but he continued to struggle,” says Sands. ” He kicked his shoes off, and would lay on the ground. He wouldn’t walk, (so officers)  had to carry him.”

In addition to being over the legal limit, Officers found 15 grams of THC wax, prescription pills, and over $400 in suspected drug money on Scott’s person.

He was cited for DUI and arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Sands says it is unknown why Scott was driving drunk in the parking lot to begin with.
