Gabe Heins, a place kicker for the Kearney Bearcats, announced on Twitter on Thursday that he had accepted an offer to walk-on for Nebraska. Kearney was the same school which produced former Husker and current Dallas Cowboy placekicker Brett Maher.

Heins was 5 of 8 on field goal attempts his senior season, including a long of 44 yards, according to the Omaha World-Herald. He also made 32 of his 34 extra point attempts in 2018.
