The Public Helps Identify A Suspect In Front Door Explosions

Tips from the public lead to the apprehension of a 17 year old suspect in the explosion of artillery shells on the front doors of two southeast Lincoln homes. Police Officer Angela Sands says that luckily no one was injured by the explosions that resulted in hundreds of dollars of damage to the front areas of the homes at 75th and 84th and South Streets. Police believe they were randomly selected.

Officer Sands says that after video surveillance was released by the media, police received numerous tips identifying the person responsible for lighting the firework. The 17 year-old was referred to the county attorney for two counts of injure or destroy property of another, disturbing the peace and unlawful discharge of fireworks.
