Weather permitting, I-80 will be temporarily closed in both directions on February 26 at 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., on the west edge of Lincoln. Lincoln Electric System will be removing a utility line from Northwest 48th Street to US-77 South, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
The detour route is as follows:
Eastbound traffic, use I-80 eastbound off-ramp at Northwest 48th Street to L-55K south to the
junction, then east on US-6 to US-77, then back on eastbound on-ramp to I-80 eastbound.
Westbound traffic, use US-77 southbound off-ramp to N-6, then westbound to the junction
of US-6/L-55K, and northbound on L-55K to I-80 westbound on-ramp.
Overhead message boards and portable dynamic message signs will be used to help with directions.
Motorists should expect to see delays and are reminded to drive cautiously through highway work zones.
