Nebraska’s Two U.S. Senators Vote Differently on Spending Bill

(written by Mark Vail)

Nebraska U.S. Senator Ben Sasse voted against a record-setting government spending bill last night. He said the bill is too expensive and too unwilling to prioritize. Sasse says the US needs more spending on defense do not need more across-the-board spending on every single government program every single bureaucrat ever imagined.

Senator Deb Fisher voted for the bill noting that the measure also sets up a bipartisan congressional committee charged with making structural changes to Washington’s broken budgeting process. Fisher added that for years she has called for more targeted reforms to address federal spending, and will continue to support efforts that will move in that direction.”
